Casey and Joe first met in Chicago when they both joined the same beach volleyball team through mutual friends back in August 2021. A few months later, after many dates as “just friends”, Joe decided to make it official and ask Casey to be his girlfriend at their favorite bar, Halligans (a true romantic). Ever since, they've shared countless of unforgettable memories with each other, to now sharing their first apartment only three floors above where Joe asked Casey to be his girlfriend.

A few months into dating, Joe confessed to Casey that he remembers meeting her at a high school party over 10 years ago in 2012, and showed a picture of them together to prove it (shown below). He also admitted that a large part of why he joined the beach volleyball team was because he heard she was also going to be on the team. His own father backed up his story after letting Casey know how odd he thought it was for Joe to be joining a sports league in the first place but said he quickly learned from Joe that it was because of a girl. Shortly after, they also found out that one of Casey’s uncles sold Joe’s mom her first dream car back in the 80’s - a 1969 green corvette with tan interior. Although, when the day came for her to pick up the car, Uncle Danny called Joe’s mom and told her that someone totaled the car and the deal was off. Long story short, Uncle Danny has been on Jill D’Silva’s "shit list" since 1980.

Through many more coincidences and connections, Casey and Joe have always felt nothing but comfortable with each other from day one, without really being able to explain why. They believe their relationship is a testament to the invisible string theory - the idea that your “person” (partner, soulmate, best friend) has always been present in your life's path in some way, even when you haven't completely met them yet. It explains that two people who are meant to be together, are connected by an invisible string and are destined to meet each other at just the right time. Although Joe might have known about meeting Casey back in high school and aside from purposely joining the same volleyball team as her, they believe that both of their lives lined up together perfectly, allowing them to truly “meet” and start a life together at just the right time.
